Thοdoros Brouskomatis is the man behind animATheca, that is, the “Case of the soul”. animATheca is a project that was inspired when, during a walk in London, he came across the diorama boxes of the Mexican folk art. His trip, which coincided with the untimely death of Amy Winehouse, inspired him to create his very first box, in honor of the singer. His work involves portraits of famous deceased men and women from around the world and women’s vintage nude.
The boxes are made of mdf, glass, glazed images printed on photographic paper, plastic, glass or metal beads, plastic and fabric flowers and whatever may inspire him. Each animATheca box is a unique.
