THE TALES OF KIMONO: COMETA, 40X50 CM, OIL ON CANVAS

Paolo Pedroni was born in Brescia in 1983. His very first artistic works were carried out on the canvas of the streets, spray graffiti and street art upon the walls of the suburbs. He graduated from the European Institute of Design in 2005, and even if he works in the field of design, he has never forgotten his innate passion for painting and drawing, that have made him one of the great Italian pop surreal artists. Paolo Pedroni’s paintings are the result of the artist’s fervid imagination reversed on a canvas. He treats his depicted fairytales dreamscapes through a detailed study of each of the fantastic elements that seem to take shape by themselves. Fluid, invisible brushstrokes try to narrate a sweet story where fairytale’s figures, as porcelain dolls, must follow their path through enchanted woods with the help of spirited, stuffed animals. Melancholic and innocent, Pedroni’s characters stare at the viewers to reawaken their inner child and carry it away for a dreamy adventure of sparks and fantastic creatures in search of a happy ending.
